NO ONE HAS A CLUE ... JUNE 7TH, 2015

NO ONE HAS A CLUE WHAT TO DO    JUNE 7TH, 2015
BY
JAMES BREDIN

Could we turn our appointed Senate place into a bingo hall?
Could we make that legal without causing a political brawl?
Do we need to change the Constitution like Pierre Trudeau did,
But Senate appointees are sort of sacred, so the rules might forbid.

But it's obvious we need to do something to lessen the ongoing row,
Could we have them elected instead of being appointed like now?
Has the disappeared money allowed someone to have a ball?
Who would object if we turned it into a big bingo hall?

Has anyone else got an idea about this or am I the only one?
It should not be that hard to figure out or is this all over and done?
Do we have a politician to come out of the woods and say what to do?
Or are we all sitting around watching a screen and no one has a clue?

SINFUL SUICIDAL SUBJECT ... JUNE 1ST, 2015

HMCS Athabaskan

SINFUL SUICIDAL SUBJECT     JUNE 1ST 2015
BY
JAMES BREDIN

Ontario should also have death-with-dignity laws,
Our politicians don't know but they're looking for applause,
And if Quebec gets death with dignity; can we go there?
To die in dignity too or do our politicians even care?

Because eventually death will come to you and me,
Even if our Ontario politicians refuse to see,
But Quebec may have their Bill 52 enacted this year,
Will they have death-with-dignity and we don't; is that clear?

Five US States and half of Europe have death-with-dignity now,
You can even go to Switzerland and get it yourself somehow,
Death-with-dignity, seldom if ever comes up in our debates,
This sinful suicidal subject is somehow stopped at the gate.

WHAT CANADIANS SHOULD KNOW ...MAY31ST, 2015

WHAT CANADIANS SHOULD KNOW   … May 31st, 2015

BY
JAMES BREDIN

What if a provincial politician announced his/her position?
That death-with-dignity should be a provincial position.
And it should not be hidden out of sight and out of mind,
Canadians should know that they are not being left behind.

Though media moguls seldom allow this subject to be mentioned,
They themselves seldom speak about this even at their conventions,
If it is not mentioned, it is therefore a forbidden subject,
Those who want death with dignity, have no way to connect.

If Quebec gets it; does that mean, other provinces will get it too?
Should we go out and learn French just to hear how they do?
What strings will the opposition pull to stop this whole affair?
Is there an elected party politician in Canada who even cares?

CANADIANS NEED REFERENDUMS ... MAY 28TH, 2015

CANADIANS NEED REFERENDUMS … MAY 28TH, 2015
BY
JAMES BREDIN
Canadians need a referendum on death-with-dignity soon,
Why is it so difficult to get this past some political goon?
Why is it so seldom mentioned in provincial political stuff?
Why do these politicians just stand and huff and puff?

While citizens all around them face an undignified death,
Many may be in pain and on or near their last breath,
As though this political problem has been cast aside,
Therefore Canadian death-with-dignity will never be tried.

We need binding referendums in the Constitution soon,
So as not to be led by a group of political goons,
Whose decisions can't be questioned or problems mentioned,
And they stay in Ottawa until they are due for a pension.

JUST ONE PROVINCIAL POLITICIAN ... MAY 27TH, 2015

JUST ONE PROVINCIAL POLITICIAN      … MAY 27TH, 2015
BY
JAMES BREDIN

If one provincial politician in Canada should mention this,
He/She could be famous in his/her political career of bliss,
Because death with dignity is serious Canadian stuff,
Too many of our present politicians are not loud enough.

Because for some strange reason, they've swept this under the rug,
Therefore the upper echelon feel that they are politically smug,
But those of us who are old or soon to die, are not so sure,
And their hidden death-with-dignity is not a cure.

Because doctor assisted death could send a doctor to jail,
And for this reason, the whole system is liable to fail,
Seldom even mentioned by media moguls, so you may not know,
A provincial or national referendum would be good though.

GET ONE OF THEM TO CAUSE A FUSS ... MAY 26TH, 2015

GET ONE OF THEM TO CAUSE A FUSS      MAY 26TH,  2015
BY
JAMES BREDIN

Ontario should be the first province to arrange this affair,
Though we might wonder if Ontario politicians even care,
Or have they too hidden death-with-dignity behind a closed door?
Should we or could we ask, or do they even know the score?

This has long been hidden by all Ottawa party politicians,
And none of them will admit this or make any other admissions,
Because they want to stay in power for as long as they can,
And death-with-dignity is not part of their party floor plan.

They may have it in Switzerland and five US states but not here,
Some preachers call it suicide; therefore it should be feared,
Still Ontario could do it, if we have a politician with guts,
And how do we get just one of them to cause a fuss?

WHICH PROVINCE WILL ARRANGE IT FIRST? ... MAY 25TH, 2015

WHICH PROVINCE WILL ARRANGE IT FIRST?  … MAY 25TH, 2015
BY
JAMES BREDIN

Why is the issue of death-with-dignity buried somewhere?
Five US states already have it but that's over there,
It's a graphic illustration that here in Canada we need to change,
But neither our federal or provincial politicians will arrange.

Death with dignity is what the people want and need,
And these are extremely important political issues indeed.
But our politicians have hidden it quietly behind closed doors,
So the issue is silenced so therefore no one will roar.

You might wonder who is pulling these political strings?
Does he/she expect to die in dignity and float away on wings?
Do we have one provincial politician with the guts?
To say, this is a provincial issue, no ifs ands or buts.
