PUBLIC DOUBT ... MAY 12TH, 2014

PUBLIC DOUBT … MAY 12TH, 2014
BY
JAMES BREDIN

Our Supreme Court won't allow Senate changes that they don't like,
I guess Harper's Quebec appointee is not exactly their type,
And changes to Pierre Trudeau's Charter is just not allowed,
A difference of opinion from two Ottawa crowds.

If we had binding referendums, we could solve these situations,
Wouldn't have to suffer these legal ongoing frustrations,
We could leave it to the people -- not political appointees,
And we the people wouldn't have to get down on our knees.

So our Supreme Court make the big decisions -- not the prime minister,
With these different opinions; can we avoid something sinister?
Should we do something soon to figure these problems out?
Maybe get binding referendums and no need for public doubt.
