IN A LONELY HOSPITAL BED … SEP 29TH, 2014
BY
JAMES BREDIN
We are like moving dots on the highway or the subway or bus,
We need binding referendums and death with dignity soon,
Because dying in pain could lead to our eventual doom.
But those who rule the roost are totally opposed to this,
Nothing makes much sense in this death-with-dignity cause,
Doctor-assisted-death cannot be accepted just because.
Those who have the power want to keep it as long as they can,
Therefore no recall or referendums and a death-with-dignity ban,
Many of my memories involve people who are now long dead,
They usually died without dignity in some lonely hospital bed.
